Hello beautiful ones! I hope everyone is doing well on this hot Friday afternoon. Hot days mean I try my best to stay indoors because I am not ready to face what’s outside. Hey, it’s weekend! I am all smiles and all kinds of happy. Let me tell you why. On Wednesday the 9th December 2015 I had the opportunity of working at a Trunk show hosted by African Fashion International (AFI) Prive at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Johannesburg.

Taibo Bacar creation

There were beautiful garments from African designers such as Duaba Serwa (Ghana), Kiko Romeo (Kenya), Taibo Bacar (Mozambique), Thula Sindi (South Africa) and many many more. I was so excited and was so mesmerized by some of the beautiful garments. Taibo Bacar is one of my favourite African designers and I absolutely love his work. I spent alot of time looking at his pieces as well as the Thula Sindi pieces. I mentioned earlier that I was working at the event. I did not however mention that I worked as a Sales Assistant, it was alot of work but boy did I have a good time.

The highlight of day was sitting down to have a chat with my favourite blogger of all time Palesa. I also got to meet Thandeka who is also big in the South African fashion scene and I got to see Crystal again. Most of you know Palesa and Crystal as “the twins” they are absolutely amazing and they inspire me a lot.I had so much joy in my heart helping some of the clients pick out their favorite garments from the floor rails and escort them to the fitting rooms. The looks of joy on some of the faces brought so much joy to my heart, I was happy they they were happy. I was also so glad that so many people hold African Designers in such high regard, it was excellent. I got to see some of my friends come to the event and try on some garments and but they…everything was just amazing. Palesa was simply wonderful, I watched her assist clients with some style tips, I must say she is an amazing stylist and is great at what she does. I would like to see both her and Crystal work together soon.

I remember earlier this year when I worked as Assistant Stylist for one of the AFI Prive photo shoots, I saw a Taibo Bacar dress and skirt and I told myself that one day I would own one of the pieces. I am glad to announce that I am now the proud owner of a Taibo Bacar skirt. Initially I wanted the pencil dress with lace detail but unfortunately I could not fit into it. I cried real tears lol. The year 2015 has really been an amazing year for me I accomplished so much and I learnt a lot and grew in so many ways. I am so grateful to God for that, keep scrolling for my pictures and enjoy.
