Hello beautiful ones of the Most High! I trust you are all well and had a good Christmas remembering that you are the reason for the season. Like every other year my Christmas was spent with my family and it was nothing short of amazing. Christmas is a reminder of God’s love for me and my family and I am so grateful.
With only one day of 2016 left I thought it right for me to work on one last blog post and look back at the year. Wow!!!!! It was January just yesterday, I remember it so clearly. Where did time go? The days went by so fast and just like that the year has come to an end. It’s been a fairly great year and I can confidently say I am happy with what I have achieved and the lessons I have learnt.
In 2016 I was consistent with my blog posts, I had a collaboration with one of my Monday Male Features, I attended/worked at Fashion Weeks by Africa Fashion International, I attended a few events and met fellow bloggers and made friends. I worked well in my job and made a lot of progress, I made major progress in the different departments I am part of at church. I worked on friendships I had been slacking on it has been amazing.
Of course the year brought with it trying times but what would I be without those times? Tears were shed, anger and frustrations were released but still I came out victorious. One of the toughest times of 2016 was being away from my young sister Helena who is my best friend. Earlier this year Helena had to leave home for University on another continent. It has been so difficult for me because we did everything together but I am proud of myself for how far I have gone. In all of this is am more proud of Helena because she has spread her wings and is flying on eagles wings, winning all day everyday. I love you Helena.
I hate goodbyes but this year they kept following me. A few weeks ago I had to say goodbye to two very special friends of mine who left the country – Adriana and Maddy who has my photographer for most of my blog posts. Before they left I visited them in Pretoria where my visit turned into a photo session, lol. The idea was to have a shoot and capture some jacarandas but unfortunately we were a week late. We decided to go to the Union Buildings instead and what happened there was magical!
The outfit I picked was simple, cute, feminine, fun and spells SUMMER, well at least it did for me. I am a lover of summer and summer makes me happy. I wore a skater skirt with a cold shoulder top, a pair of plain white tennis shoes and a cute straw hat to complete the look. The inspiration behind the outfit was a combination of 50s and 60s, I absolutely adore fashion from that era.
I would like to thank everyone who was there for me this year and made it special for me : to my family for always being there for me, to everyone who took time to read my blog and talk about it and for all the love and support on Twitter and Instagram. I would like to give a special shout out to Kalenga KurveKut you are such a gem, thank you. Blessing, thank you for your help with the blog what would I do without you lol.
With so many plans for the year 2017 I cannot wait to step into it. My prayer for you is that the Lord grant you all your heart desires and that you are successful in all you do. The heartache, pain, suffering and struggles you experienced in 2016 will not follow you to 2017.
And with that I say HAPPY NEW YEAR!
